March Madness is just around the corner and I know that has nothing to do with the renovation to the Big House taking place as I type, but it got me thinking about it.

Essentially, UofM is undertaking a fairly substantial renovation to the 108,000 seating-capacity stadium for the start of the 2008 season in late-August.

Why is this newsworthy? Uh, I'm not really sure it is, especially if you're not a Wolverines fan, but then again I guess there is the usual amount of controversy swirling about the reno, but whatcha gonna you, eh?

In my reading up on the subject I learned a couple of interesting things - again, only interesting if you're a fan, probably.

1. There is a waiting list available for season tickets, and for a paltry $10 I can add my name to that list. When tickets become available you get the option to buy endzone season tickets and if you want to move closer to mid-field you need to pay a premium for those tickets, I forget how much it is but I just thought you might want to know this.

2. I came across this video of what the finished product will look like and I must say I think it looks pretty cool and still keeps the tradiotnal look and feel of this awesome building. On a sad note, the area where I used to tailgate has been removed to make room for the new entrance at Gate #1, but please don't cry for me, I've already been invited to join other Michigan fans at their tailgate where they have been meeting before and after the games since they graduated or something crazy. Anyway, that's neither here nor there.
